Abundant nature and great #BIRDING opportunities at Bird Island Lodge

Nature and wildlife are abundant here at Kwa Nibela, and we would like you to come pay us a visist. The Nibela peninsula is an awesome #BirdingLocation  with flamingos,  pelicans, herons and many other water birds found where the Mkuze swamps  and the Hluhluwe rivers spill into the St. Lucia Estuary.  Then there are the many other terrestrial birds like doves, finches and horn-bills that  frequent the area as well. Spiders, wasps, ants and butterflies are also plentiful, as are the many other creepy crawly things, like SCORPIONS and beetles, with the occasional tortoise  and some not so common birds. come pay us a visist you may be fortunate to see a local resident SKILLY  (Skilpad) the tortorse that floats around and enjoys the sun shine her at Bird Island Lodge in Kwa Nibela... come pay us a visist You need to be carefull of these fellas, coz their sting can be quite painful. them fellas with small pincers are more venomous than these guys with big f...

Bird Island Lodge has the most awesome view of bird island, in the north east corner of lake St. Lucia.  The lodge is on the Nibela Peninsula near Sobhengu Lake Lodge and Nibela Lake Lodge.  All three of these lodges are on the Nibela Peninsula, which for some strange reason falls out side of the iSimangaliso Wetland Parks influence.
