Butterfly Butterfly sit still I want your pic...

I just wasted about 4 hours trying to get a pic to post and advertise our camp sites here at Bird Island Lodge.  Came home for lunch and my mate Norman brags with four wonderful photos of a butterfly that posed for him.

Butterly lovers will really enjoy camping at Bird Island Lodge on the Nibela Peninsula of lake St Lucia.

Now we need a little help here to catalogue and identify the many butterfly species found here on the Nibela Peninsula of Lake St Lucia. We are not inside the iSimangaliso Wetland Park, but there are no fences between us and the park.

This makes bird Island Lodge a unique birding destination, where we have Bird Island just North East of us, False Bay and the associated Sand Forests South West of us, the Flamingoes on the Hluhluwe river mud flats just North West of us,  and Hells Gate South of us, and the iSimangaliso Wetland Park is on three sides of the Nibela Peninsula

Just in case you do not know, the iSimangaliso Wetland Park is South Africa's first world heritage site, and is located in North East KZN SOUTH AFRICA. Closest big town is Richards Bay.  We are located between Sodwana Bay and Hluhluwe along the old Maputuland coast, just a a few Km off the R 22 tourism Route.

The Nibela Peninsula is still in

an undisturbed state, but that will not be garunteed forever.  We have been mandated by the local Induna to get a tourism business going on one corner of the local tribal lands, so as to provide local jobs and give the local community a reason to look after the lands and offer the natural environment just a little respite from the growing need for housing developments.

So one of our primary attractions here at #BirdIslandLodge is the large number of indemic butterfly species found here. This is a tough one with minimal resources, so we would like your help.  Come pay us a visit and help us out by spending time relaxing in the bush and taking pics of our #Buttertflys #insects #Birds and #Bugs, then talking about them in the social media, or just chill and enjoy the birds singing in the bush.

Cost for camping is R 150 Per person / perday

Four rustic campsites, hot water showers, flush toilet , open scullery for your use. No electricity or cell phone charging points, so bring your solar charges along.

Price includes fire wood for the hot water donkey every day, general cleanup around the campsite every day and the use of the swimming pool at #BirdIslandLodge
